MIXTAPE REVOLUTION

I was reading the Portland Mercury last night and stumbled upon a little piece about a new website that has been creating quite the commotion, so i check it out today, and YES, it does deserve quite the commotion!! It's called muxtape.com, and it's a sick-ass site that allows users to upload their own custom MIXTAPES....yes MIXTAPES, do you even own cassettes!? Probably not, and that's okay, no judging, but on this site, you can make your own and share it with the entire universe!

I just finished listening to Daft Punk's "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" Kanye mash-up. The site is pretty cool folks, and i do believe i will be participating asap! There are a number of mixtapes to choose from, featuring artists i've never fuckin' heard of, or even thought could be named such names, like: "Thank You" "The Convocation Of" "The 6ths" "The Las" etc.....
Keep in mind, everyone has their own taste in music(thankgod), don't like what ya hear, make your own. I've been enjoying the overwhelming amount of folk-indy-rock-emo-mashup tracks found on the site.

*One thing i did notice is how you can only upload MP3s, which be kinda limiting to all the itunes folks and such. We'll see when Muxtape can expand this sort of issue.

Seriously, check this site out, and make a fuckin' mixtape in 08!!
