Los Angeles was dark 16 years ago

April 29th 1992, the LA Riots kicked off with the shocking aquittel of LAPD's ruthless-badge-wearing-racist-cops who savagely beat Rodney King with absolutely no avail. There names: Lawrence Powell, Timothy Wind, Theodore Briseno, and Stacey Koon. What should've been the imprisonment of the police officers became another victory and triumph for the LAPD, another win for a corrupt group of law enforcers who are suppose to "protect and serve". The LA riots left the city in massive flames, shambles, gun fights, looted stores, pure mayhem, beatings, and all the while, the LAPD never stepped in once to relieve (and protect the people) the overwhelming madness or the initial spur of riots that quickly boiled over for the next 6 days straight. A cop never stepped in! Over 50 lives were lost due to the extensive chaos and violence. Over 4K Soldiers had to be called in, who didn't arrive until the 4th day just to settle the growing terror. It was LA's darkest days...

For the next 6 days, i will post a video each day of the LA Riots and a song in memory of the event that changed LA forever. I was in 5th grade at the time, completely mezmorized by the devestating riots, and obsessively listening to Dre's The Chronic, and Ice Cube's The Predator. A match made in hell....

Let the riots begin:
